Valentine Card Love Birds

Valentine's Day is only 15 days away!  This is a card I made without using a Valentine's stamp set.  The birds were punched out with the bird Builder Punch. I cut the heart shape using the new Hearts Framelits and my Big Shot that are in the Occasions Mini Catalogue (love these Framelits!)

Recognize the Designer paper?  It is the Cheerful Treat exclusive desiger paper that a hostess can earn for free!  I embossesed the background with the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder and my Big Shot.

I love the melon mambo ribbon (I just turned the polka dot side over!) and the string of pearls as an accent.

Colours are:  Melon Mambo, Concord Crush, Wisteria Wonder and Pink Pirouette

Stamp Space Organization and Makeover

This stamp space was transformed for this lucky demonstrator.  She won a craft room make over from Stampin' Up!  And it was done by, the head of the company, Shelli Gardner and members of her family!  Too cool!

Outlined Occasions Stamp Set for Valentines Day

Blown Glass Technique on Valentines Card and more!

The Blown Glass Technique was demoed at a recent demonstrator meeting by Mary Louise Hamil of Milton.  She made these beautiful cards.

Basically you take the Crystal Effects product from Stampin' Up! and spread it in a thick layer on your cardstock (or acetate like the 2nd sample) and then swirl a few drops of ink refill on top and let it dry (could take a few days!).  Love this as a Valentines card or just a "thinking of you" card.

It is GORGEOUS and every card will be different.  The 2nd card sample has has white ink refill in it too and the image was stamped in staz on directly on the  (from the stamp set Plant Hope) acetate.

Give the Blown Glass Technique a try!  I'd love to see what you come up with.

Candy Conversations

Candy Conversations is a new stamp set from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalogue.  It is so cute and a quick way to make a Valentine Card.

This card was made from a demonstrator in my group, Vicki Howie from Belleville.

Vicki also used the new cherry scented embossing powder the the Occasions Mini Catalogue.  It smells so yummy!

Birch Bark Technique for your Cards

Last week, I posted 14 cards made by the lovely and talented, Kim Stathakos, a demonstrator in my group from Stoney Creek.

This card is my favourite of the ones Kim made.  It is my favourite because of the cool technique she did on it.   She made the paper look like birch bark.  How appropriate for a Tree card!  It is made by sponging crumb cake ink against the vanilla cardstock and then using your fingernail, dipped in ink, to put the little marks on the paper.  How cool is this?  it really looks like birch bark!
