Vintage Christmas card with Vellum & Lace

Winter wishes sled with vellumThis pretty vintage Christmas card is one that we made in my Stamp Club Classes.  To make sure you know about my classes, sign up here to get information and updates on local stamp classes (near the Burlington, Ontario area).  I love how you can use all the elements in this stamp set to make a collage in the background.  Did you see my card from yesterday's post that also used this sled/sleigh image as a focal point?

To make this card "vintage" looking I used muted colours, but also the vellum, some gold embossing and the lace, Venetian Crochet Trim from Stampin' Up!
Having a vintage or antique look is also about the colour choices. Using Cherry Cobbler is more vintage than Real Red.  Also the Sahara Sand is a nice soft colour.  I also sponged white ink around the sled image for a "frosting" of snow and antique.  I popped the sled up with dimensionals and thread both the lace trim and the gold thread through the top of the tag.  I embossed the saying with gold on the vellum and then folded the edges in around the vanilla layer to attach it.

I have another card using the Winter Wishes stamp set on my Facebook page tomorrow!  Please click here to go to and LIKE my Facebook page now.
